  4. Food tastes different if you have a memory disorder, so preferences will change.
  5. Just because your loved one was safe to be alone yesterday does not mean they are safe today.
  6. Most caregivers recognize a problem after a crisis, not before.
  7. The most important thing you can do for your loved one is to be kind and respectful.
  8. Social engagement is the most important thing you can do for your loved one.
  9. Be sure to take care of yourself.
  10. Play to your loved one’s strengths, not their losses.
